Very nice zinc German World War 1 tag in used, but good condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who was drafted in the Rekruten Depot Ersatz Bataillon Landwehr Infanterie Regiment 121 and was then placed in the 9.Kompanie Landwehr Infanterie Regiment 120. This unit saw it's first combat in the Southern part of the Alsace (Elsaß) and fought in the Vosges. After that it fought in the Savonnières (Côte Lorraine), Verdun (Cheppywald) and the Argonne.
The tag belonged to a soldier named Theodor Schöpfer who was born in Obertürkheim on the 14th of August 1875.
