Very nice zinc World War 1 Infanterie related tag in used, but good condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier named Kurt Feilcke who was drafted in the Ersatz Bataillon Infanterie Regiment 162. This unit was formed on the 2nd of August 1914 in Lübeck. Kurt ended up serving in the 2.Kompanie Infanterie Regiment Nr.461. This is what the back of the tag says. This regiment was part of the 237.Infanterie-Division which was formed in Janurary 1917 and saw combat on the eastern front in areas like Beresina, Zloczow and Sereth.
In February 1918 it moved to the Western front and operated in areas like the Argonnen, Reims, Somme and the Antwerpen-Maas-Stellung.
The tag is broken, but solid and complete.
