The overall condition of the canteen is excellent. The canteen comes with the attachment hook on the back. The leather straps are supple and solid. The canteen and canteen lid are marked 'ESB37' (maker: 'Eduard Sommerfeld' from' 'Berlin', date of production '1937'). The black aluminium cup is marked 'RFI37' (maker: 'Rudolf Fissler KG' from 'Idar-Oberstein', date of production '1937') . The felt cover is also marked, but to vague to read, due to wear. The buttons on the felt cover are present and workable (always handle with care off course).

All in all, a very nice year matching 1-litre Wehrmacht medical canteen.
