The overall condition of the card is excellent. A white linen card named to Hilfskrankenträger Walter Gemeinhardt who seved in the 2.Batterie Artillerie Regiment 173. In early 1940 this Batterie fell under the command of 296.Infanterie-Division and participated in the invasion of France. In October that year the Batterie fell under te command of 323.Infanterie-Division and saw combat in Russia. In areas like Woronesh, Kurks and Kiew. In May 1944 the regiment (173) was completely destroyed in Sebastopol. This card was used to indentify that Walter is entitled to the Geneva's badge. That means he can wear a white stamped armband with a red cross and is therefor under the protection of articles 9,12 and 13 of the Geneva Agreement. Its dated 26 April 1945.
