Beautiful and very hard to find single vented, Army Issued Gebirgsjäger EM 'Bergmütze'.
The overall condition of this mountain cap for enlisted men is used but very good. It's shows normal signs of wear. The outside is complete with it's hand (re)applied (perfect sewn!) Bevo T-Shaped eagle, two period brown 'Steinnuss' buttons on the 'flap(s)' and a period hand applied Edelweiss Mütze abzeichen. The Edelweiss is reinforced with some black thread (probably post war done) due to that it's broken.
On the inside it's complete with it's sweatband (which is named to 'Eckhart') and stiffened front to the crown. The sweatband shows normal signs of wear and is supple, solid and fully attached to the cap. The Mütze is not visibly marked by the maker, probably worn out.
The size of the the cap is approx. 53
Overall a beautiful Bergmütze, which is one of the hardest to find Third Reich caps, incredibly sought after by collectors and missing from most Gebirgsjäger displays.
