Very nice and incredible rare late war Waffen-SS Dutch Volunteer 'De Ruiter' Cufftitle.
One, if not the, hardest to find SS Volunteer Cufftitle there is.
This machine-woven Cufftitle is in absolute mint condition. Its approx. 50cms in length.
The 'De Ruiter' (mostly spelled 'de Ruyter') cufftitle was authorized in 'October 1943' for the 'SS-Freiwilligen-Panzer-Grenadier-Regiment 49 'De Ruyter'.
The name came from the famous Dutch Admiral 'Michael Adriaanzoon de Ruyter (1607–1976)' who had fought the English in Guinea, the Channel and he also led his fleet up the Thames in 1666 to attack London.
The 'SS-Freiwilligen-Panzer-Grenadier-Regiment 49 'De Ruyter' fell under the 'SS-Freiwilligen-Panzergrenadier-Brigade Nederland' along with 'SS-Freiwilligen-Panzergrenadier-Regiment 48 ‘General Seyffardt’ and some other supporting units
The volunteers of these elite units fought among else on the bridgehead Narwa (Estonia)
