The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows signs of wear. It belonged to a member who served in the 3.Kompanie Volksturm-Bataillon 47. The '16' stands for Gau Mark Brandenburg. This bataillon was formed in January 1945 and was also known as Volkssturm-Bataillon Fendler and Volkssturm-Bataillon Wuerfler. The 'Vkst' stands of course for Volkssturm.
