The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served in the Veterinär Kompanie 385. This kompanie was probably part of the Divisionseinheiten der 385.Infanterie-Division. This division was formed in January 1942 and operated in Russia in areas like Kursk, Woronesch, Donbogen and Bjelgorod.
The 'O' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
