The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who was drafted in the Verfügungskompanie Landesschützen Ersatz Bataillon 17. This unit was formed in February 1940 and trained and supplied for a lot of different Landesschützen Bataillons, Landesschützen Regiments, Sicherungs Regiments and Transport units.
