This bataillon trained the soldiers for 9.Infanterie-Division. This division saw its first combat during the invasion of Belgium and then France. It was send to Poland in the beginning of 1941. It fought the rest of the war on the eastern front in areas like Kiev, Donez, Krim, Rostow, Kaukasus.
