Hard to find Officers Gebirgsjäger Bergmütze in heavily worn, but awesome 'been there' condition.
This midwar (1941/1942) Bergmütze definitely shows signs of wear (see the photos). It started it's life as an EM/NCO issued Bergmutze, and was period field upgraded to an officer rank, hence the silver piping on top, the 2 silver buttons (they used Schirmmutze chin strap buttons for that) on the 'flap(s)' and a flatwire t-shaped eagle on the front. The lining is intact and complete with the full leather sweatband which is supple. It's named but due to wear, vague to read.
On the left side the edelweiss cap badge is present, which is also period aplied. The size is approx. 55,5.
Overall a very nice midwar Bergmütze, which are incredible hard to find!
