Very nice black laquered Wehrmacht parade belt in used, but very good condition.
The belt shows overall normal signs of use. The leather is supple and even most of the felt on the inside is present. It's named to a Anton Knoll and unit marked 2.Kompanie Infanterie Regiment 40. This regiment started as Infanterie Regiment Augsburg in 1934. In Oktober 1935 the I.Batallion and III.Bataillon were used to formed the II.Bataillon and III.Bataillon of Gebirgsjager Regiment 99.
New bataillons of the regiment where formed. The regiment was part of the 27.Infanterie-Division. With this division it saw combat during the Poland campaign and after that during the invasion of France. In Oktober 1940 the division became the 17.Panzer-Division and the Regiment was renamed Schutzen-Regiment 40. The III.Bataillon of the regiment was used to form Kradschutzen-Bataillon 25.
