The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. The number '63066' relates to the Transportstaffel 7.Flieger-Division. This division was formed in September 1938 in Berlin and was the tactical headquarters and staff of the Luftwaffe paratrooper branch. In May 1943 the division became the 1.Fallschirmjäger-Division and thus mob-nummer '63066' became Transportstaffel 1.Fallschirmjäger-Division.
This division was put into action in Sicily, Adria coast, Monte Casino, Rimini and Imola.
The 'A' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
