The Wehrpass shows overall normal signs of wear. It's solid and complete with all pages. It belonged to Gustav Achilles who was drafted on the 17.11.1939 into 1.Kompanie Bau Ersatz Bataillon 11. In early December 1939 he switched to the 1.Kompanie Bau Bataillon 246. He served with this unit until 2.1.1942. On the 1.7.1940 he was promoted to gefreiten.
With this bataillon he saw combat during the invasion of France as part of the 16.Armee. According to the Gefechtskalender in the Wehrpass Gustav was moved to the east on 10.5.1941 to prepare for the invasion of Russia. Still serving with Bau-Bataillon 246. In January 1942 he switched to the Strassen-Bau-Bataillon 540 untill 13.10.1942. According to his Wehrpass he participated in the fighting South of Charkow and later in the Donbogen area.
In the last weeks in the army Gustav served in the 1.Stammkompanie Bau Ersatz Bataillon 3. On the 24th of October Gustav left the army.
He earned the Kriegsverdienstkreuz 2.Klasse mit Schwerten and the Ostmedaille. With the Wehrpass comes 2 other documents.
