Nice worn dog tag from a soldier who served in the Stammkompanie Grenadier Ersatz Bataillon 6.
The dog tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows normal signs of wear. The Infanterie Ersatz Bataillon 6 was formed in the summer of 1939 and in November 1942 renamed and divided in Grenadier Ersatz Bataillon 6 and Grenadier Ausbildungs Bataillon 6. In April 1943 both units where put together and in September it was mobilized with 4 kompanies and moved to Holland. In late 1944 its was stationed and fought Kleve (Reichswald area) and 1945 it fought in the Venlo area.
The 'B' on the tag stands for the blood type of the soldier.
