This bataillon was formed in Augst 1939 in Salzburg. It trained and supplied soldiers for different Gebirgs Pionier Bataillone, Strassenbau Bataillon, Pionier Bataillone, Gebirgs-Bau Bataillon and more.
The 'O' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldiers bloodtype.
