Nice zinc Wehrmacht Artillerie related tag in used, but good condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who was drafted/served in the Stammbatterie leichte Artillerie Ersatz Abteilung 8. This unit was formed in late august 1939 in Troppau. It trained and supplied soldiers for Artillerie Abteilung 236, 658 and for 8 different Artillerie Regiments.
In October 1942 the abteilung was stationed in Metz, France, but in December of that same year it moved back to Germany again.
The 'A' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
