The tag or 'erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier/NCO who served within the Stabskompanie Infanterie Regiment 532. This regiment was formed in January 1942 and was part of the 383.Infanterie-Division. It was put into action in the areas of Bobruisk and Woronesh. In October 1942 it was renamed into Grenadier Regiment 532. It also saw action in the areas like Orel, Brjansk, Mogilew and Bobruisk were it was destroyed in June 1944.
The 'A' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
