The document is in good condition. Shows overall normal signs of use. The Verwundetenabzeichen was awarded on 7th of April 1943 to Josef who served in the Stabskompanie Grenadier Regiment 333. This regiment was formed in August 1939 and was part of the 225.Infanterie-Division. The regiment saw its first combat in May 1940 during the invasion of Holland. It crossed the border at Nijmegen and on the 14th it was in Tilburg. Via Holland it moved to Belgium and then France. In early 1942 it moved to Russia saw combat in areas like Raum Tulebja,Demjansk,Radowo and Ljuban.
