Very nice Wehrmacht Transport or 'Nachschub' related erkennungsmarke in excellent condition.
The tag shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served within the Stab Nachschub Bataillon 628. This bataillon was formed in August 1939 with 3.Kompanien (+ Stab).
The unit saw action during the invasion of France and stayed in France untill the retreat after/during the Normandy campaign. It was part of the 1.Armee. In 1943 the bataillon was regrouped/reformed with in total 6 companies. Two of them were German and 4 companies exsisted out of Prisoners of War.
In the last stages of the war it saw action in West Germany.
