Very nice zinc Wehrmacht Landesschützen related tag in used, but very good condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier/NCO who served in the Stab Landesschützen Bataillon 498. This bataillon was formed in January 1941 in Bramsche. It fell under the command of the Kommandeur der Kriegsgefangenen X. The main task of the Landsschützen was to operated (guard duty) at prisoner of war camps. In Germany but also in occupied countries.
The 'B' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
Nice and bit more uncommon Stab-level tag.
