Nice aluminium Wehrmacht Infanterie related tag in used, but good condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served in the Stabskompanie Infanterie Ersatz Bataillon 366. This unit was formed in September 1939 in Düsseldorf. It trained and supplied soldiers for Infanterie Regiment 366 which was part of the 227.Infanterie-Division. In November 1939 the ersatz bataillon was used to formed the I.Bataillon Infanterie Regiment 345. A new Infanterie Ersatz Bataillon 366 was formed straight after. In June 1941 the bataillon moved to Verviers, Belgium. In Novebmer 1942 the bataillon was renamed Grenadier Ersatz Bataillon 366.
The 'A' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtpye.
Nice 'Staff-level' tag which is a bit harder to find.
