Very nice aluminium Wehrmacht Infanterie related tag in used, but excellent condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier/NCO who served in the Stabskompanie I.Bataillon Infanterie Regiment 126. This regiment was formed in October 1938 as Grenz Infanterie Bataillon 126 in Saarbrücken. The regiment participated in the invasion inf France that took place in May 1940. In February 1941 the regiment was used to rebuild the II.Bataillon Infanterie Regiment 125. This regiment was put into action during the Balkan Feldzug in Serbia.
In Ocotber 1942 the regiment was renamend into Panzergrenadier Regiment 125 and now operated in Afrika as part of the 164.leichte-Afrika-Division. It was destroyed in May 1943 in Tunisia.
Nice and more uncommon Stabs-level tag.
