A nice set of award documents in used, but good condition.
Both documents shows overall normal signs of wear. Both where folded, but they are solid. The promotion document says that Unteroffizier Carolo Hungsberg, who served within the Stab 246.Infanterie-Division, was promoted to Feldwebel as of 1.08.1942.
The KvKII was awarded on 20 April 1942. The division was formed in August 1939. It saw its first action when they attacked the Maginot-Linie in July 1940. From March 1941 untill January 1942 it was stationed in northern France. After that is was send to fight on the eastern front. It fought in areas like Rshew, Jelna, Smolensk and Witebsk. In 1944 the division was practically destroyed. Remains of the division were used to form the 246.Volks-Grenadier-Division. This division participated in the Ardennes battles.
Both documents are signed by Generalleutnant Maximilian Siry wearer of the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes.
