Details

The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It's complete with original neckcord. It belonged to member who served within the Luftgau VI Luftschutzort 8 Sicherheits-und Hilfsdienst. The main task of the SHD was to provide assistance in the event of personal injury and damage to property as a result of air raids and to maintain peace and order.
From early 1942 on the SHD became motorized units and became part of the Luftwaffe.
The 'A' on the back of the tag stands for the bloodtype.
