The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who was drafted in the Sanitäts Ersatz Abteilung X (10). This unit was formed in October 1939 in Neumünster. It trained and supplied soldiers for different units.
In April 1943 the unit became Sanitäts Ersatz und Ausbildungs Abteilung X.
The 'O' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
