The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier (or Helferin) who served/was drafted in the Sanitäts Ausbildungs Abteilung der Luftwaffe 7 Possenhofen. There is not a lot of information to be found on this unit. What we found is that in 1940 there was a Luftwaffe Sanitäts Ersatz Kompanie 7 in Possenhofen (near München). Some other information that we found that in 1943 the Sanitäts Ausbildungs Abteilung der Luftwaffe 1 was also based in Possenhofen and this unit trained exclusively Sanitätshelferinnen.
The 'A' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
