Nice worn dog tag from a soldier who served in the 2.Batterie Reserve Flak Abteilung 292 erkennungsmarke.
The dog tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served in the Schwere Reserve Flak Abteilung 292. This abteilung was formed in the summer of 1939 in Frankfurt with 5 batteries. 1-3 Schwere and 4-5 Leichte batteries. In 1940 the unit was moved to St.Nazaire. It was then moved to Morlaix in September 1941 where it stayed untill June 1942. In July of the year the unit was renamed in to gemischte Flak Abteilung 292. In November it was stationed in Lannion and a year later it was transferred to the German occupied British island of Guernsey. Here is was under command of General der Luftwaffe Kanalinseln. In August 1944 the unit pulled back from France and moved to Germany to Luftgau V. Channel Islands related stuff is hard to find.
