The photograph shows overall normal signs of (storage) wear. When the photo was released Rudolf was Gruppenführer of the 5.Kompanie Grenadier Regiment 76 (mot).
Rudolf earned the Ritterkreuz on the 2nd of October 1943. The details of earning the award can be found on the net. He also earned the Eisernes Kreuz 2.Klasse and 1.Klasse. The photograph was probably taken during a Hitler-Jugend rally/meeting. Note the soldier with the Deutsches Kreuz in Gold sitting right of Rudolf.
The size of the photograph is 13cm*18cm. The photograhp is dated 24 October 1943.
