Very nice press photograph in good condition of SS-Standartenführer Eduard Deisenhofer.
The photographs shows overall normal signs of wear. Was perforated once, but has been nicely repaired. It's complete with paper caption on the back.
It shows Ritterkreuztrager SS-Standartenführer Eduard 'Eddi' Deisenhofer sitting in his Schwimmwagen looking at a battlemap together with one of his Untersturmfuhrers during the battle for Caen in July 1944. Note the caumoflage uniforms and helmet covers they are wearing. Deisenhofer even wears a sniper/face veil on his helmet. The binoculars is a Kriegsmarine variant!
Deisenhofer earned the Ritterkreuz in Mai 1942 as commander of the I. Bataillon SS-"Totenkopf" Infanterie Regiment 1.
Awesome and rare photograph thats a must have when you collect all things Battle of Caen related.
The size of the photograph is 13cm*18cm. The photograph is dated 13.7.1944.
