The photograph shows overall normal signs of (storage) wear. It's complete with caption on the back. It's a duo portrait of Oberst Wend von Wietersheim and Staffelkapitän Gerhard Barkhorn.
Wend earned the Deutsches Kreuz in Gold in late December 1941 as commander of Kradschützen Bataillon 1. He earned the Ritterkreuz in February 1942 as commander of Schützen Regiment 113, the Ritterkeuz mit Eichenlaub in January 1943 and the Ritterkreuz mit Eichenlaub und Schwertern in March 1944 as Generalmajor and commander of the 11.Panzer-Divison.
Gerhard earned the Deutsches Kreuz in Gold in August 1942 and the Ritterkreuz also in the same month. He earned the Ritterkreuz mit Eichenlaub in January 1943 and the Ritterkreuz mit Eichenlaub und Schwertern in March 1944.
The size of the photograph is 13cm*18cm. Dated 14 January 1943.
