The photograph shows overall normal signs of wear. It's complete with paper caption on the back. Oberst Karl Maus was commander of Panzergrnadier Reigment 33 which was part of the 4.Panzer-Divison.
Karl earned the Ritterkreuz in late November 1941 as commander of th II.Bataillon Schützen Regiment 69, the Deutsches Kreuz in Gold in March 1943, Ritterkreuz mit Eichenlaub in late November 1943, Ritterkreuz mit Eichenlaub und Schwerten in late October 1944 and the Ritterkreuz mit Eichenlaub, Schwertern und Brillanten in mid April 1945!
