Very nice press photograph in very good condition of Knight's Cross winner Oberst Eugen König.
The photograph shows overall normal signs of (storage) wear. It's complete with paper caption on the back. When the photo was released Eugen was commander of the 91.Infanterie-Division.
Eugen earned the Ritterkreuz on the 1st of August 1942 as commander of the II.Bataillon Infanterie Regiment 352. And he earned the Ritterkreuz mit Eichenlaub on the 4th of November 1943 as commander of Infanterie Regiment 451. The details of earning both award can be found on the net.
In late 1944 Eugen, by then a Generalmajor, became the commander of the 272.Volks-Grenadier-Division which saw combat during the Ardennes Offensive.
The size of the photograph is 13cm*18cm. The photograhp is dated 20 March 1944.
