Very nice press photograph in good condition of Knight's Cross wearer Major Johannes Pintschovius
The photograph shows overall normal signs of (storage) wear. Complete with paper caption on the back. The moment this photo was taken Johannes was commander of the III.Bataillon Infanterie Regiment 202.
Johannes earned the ritterkreuz on the 5th of May 1942. In July 1942 Johannes became the commander of Infanterie-Bataillon z.b.V.500 which was a so-called 'Bewährungs-Bataillon' meaning that the soldiers where thiefs, demoted officers and NCO's.
Johannes was killed on the 24th of January 1945 as commander of the Heeres-Unteroffzier Schule 14, Kosten.
The size of the photograph is 13cm*18cm. Dated 29.5.1942.
