Very nice press photograph in very good condition of Major Josef Heindl.

The photographs shows overall normal signs of wear. It's complete with paper caption on the back. Josef was commander of the I.Bataillon Infanterie Regiment 199 'List' when he earned the Deutsches Kreuz in Gold on the 26th of December 1941. On the 9th of February 1943 Josef earned the Ritterkreuz for his actions in the Ssumy area. Josef was killed on the 10th of September 1943. he was awarded the Eichenlaub posthumously. The photograph is dated 07.05.1943.
