The photograph shows overall normal signs of (storage) wear. It's complete with caption on the back. The moment the photo was taken Wolfgang was commander of the U-43. Wolfgang earned the Ritterkreuz in October 1940 as the commander of U138.
In November 1942 Wolfgang was awarded the Eichenlaub (for the Ritterkreuz) as commander of U181. In April 1943 the Eichenlaub mit Schwerten and in August 1943 the Brillanten.
The size of the photograph is 13cm*18cm. Dated February 1943.
