The photograph shows overall normal signs of (storage) wear. It's complete with paper caption on the back. The photo was released 3 days after Hans died (he died on the 28th of December 1943).
Otto earned the Ritterkreuz on the 3rd of November 1940 as commander of the Zerstörer Z 21 (Wilhelm Heidkamp). Besides this award he also earned the Narvikschild, Spanienkreuz, EKII, EKI, Zerstörer-Kriegsabzeichen and more.
