The photograph shows overall normal signs of (storage) wear. It's complete with caption on the back. The moment the photo was taken Franz was Kommandeur III.Gruppe Sturzkampfgeschwader 77 (Stuka). Here he receives the Eichenlaub (Oakleaves) fot the Ritterkreuz from Hermann Göring.
Franz earned the Ritterkreuz on the 5th of January 1944. He also earned the Deutsches Kreuz in Gold (July. 1942), Ritterkreuz mit Eichenlaub (Oct. 1944), Krimschild, Frontflugspange für Kampfflieger mit AnhängerLuftwaffe Ehrenpokale and many more awards/medals.
