Very nice press photograph in very good condition of Knight's Cross winner Hauptmann Helmut Wick.
The photograph shows overall normal signs of (storage) wear. It's complete with paper caption on the back which says that he earned the Knight's Cross with Oakleaves after he shot down 5 British Spitfires. When this photograph was released Helmut was Kommodore I.Gruppe Jagdgeschwader 2 'Richhofen'.
Helmet earned the Ritterkreuz on the 27th of August 1940 and the Ritterkreuz mit Eichenlaub on the 6th of October 1940.
The size of the photograph is 13cm*18cm. The photograhp is dated 22 October 1940. Little over a month later, on the 28th of November, Hauptmann Wick died during a combat mission.
