Very nice press photograph in good condition of General Wolfgang Fischer.
The photographs shows overall normal signs of wear. It's complete with paper caption on the back. General Fischer was the commander of the 10.Panzer-Division the moment the photo was taken in 1943. Here he is discussing tactics with Heer and Luftwaffe officers in Tunisia, Afrika.
Fischer earned the Ritterkreuz in late June 1940 as commander of Schützen-Brigade 10. In April 1942 he was awarded the Deutsches Kreuz in Gold as commander of the 10.Panzer-Division. On the 9th of December 1942 Fischer was awarded the Ritterkreuz mit Eichenlaub. Wolfgang Fischer died on the 1st of February, 3 days before this photograph was issued (04.02.1943).
