Very nice press photograph in good condition of General der Infanterie Karl Franz Weisenberger.
The photographs shows overall normal signs of wear. It's complete with paper caption on the back. General Weisenberger was the commander of XXXVI.Gebirgs-Korps the moment the photo was taken in July 1943. Here he is visiting a Heeres Flak unit and he sits behind a 2cm Flak canon.
Weisenberger earned the Ritterkreuz in late June 1940 as commander of the 71.Infanterie-Division. In August 1944 he also earned the Deutsches Kreuz in Gold. Besides these awards he earned a lot of medals during his career.
