Very nice press photograph in very good condition of Knight's Cross winner General Ferdinand Noeldechen.

The photograph shows overall normal signs of (storage) wear. It's complete with caption on the back. The photograph was taken during preperations for an anit-partisan operation in Slovenia. At this time Ferdinand was Divisionskommando z.b.V. 438 and was ordered to send a Kampfgruppe which is also known as Kampfgruppe Harmel.

The SS-Hauptscharführer in the middle, wearing a dot camo tunic is Clemens Druschke. The soldier on the right is the local SD collaborator Andrej Noc. Note the field made splittertarn tunic and field cap he is wearing. Also note the abzeichen on his left breast pocket, it appears to be the DVA Abzeichen.

Ferdinand Noeldechen earned the Deutsches Kreuz in Gold on the 15th of December 1941 as commander of Artillerie Regiment 12, the Ritterkreuz on the 8th of June 1943. 

The size of the photograph is 13cm*18cm. It's dated 11.9.1944.
