The photographs shows overall normal signs of wear. It's complete with paper caption on the back. General Lanz was the commander of the 1.Gebirgs-Division the moment the photo was taken in June 1941. Here he is inspecting a Russian anti tank canon togehter with a Gebirgsjager unit.

Lanz was awarded the Ritterkreuz on the first October 1940 as Chef des Generalstabes XVIII.Armeekorps. 
The size of the photograph is 13cm*18cm. Dated 28 June 1941.
