Very nice press photograph in very good condition of General Friedrich Dollmann.
The photograph shows overall normal signs of (storage) wear. It's complete with caption on the back.
The moment the photo was taken Richard was Generaloberst and Oberbefehlshaber der 7.Armee.
The units of the 7.Armee operated in Normandy and when Dollmann's unit threatened to loose the Cherbourg harbor, Hitler threatened Dollmann and the other commander to courtmartial them. Richard Dollmann was so deeply affected by this that he died at his field headquarters on the 28th of June 1944.
It's unclear if he committed suicide or died of a heart attack.
Richard earned the Ritterkreuz on the 24th of June 1940 and the Ritterkreuz mit Eichenlaub in July 1944.
The size of the photograph is 13cm*18cm. Dated 01.07.1944.
