Very nice press photograph in very good condition of Oberleutnant Franz Ludwig.
The photograph shows overall normal signs of (storage) wear. It's complete with caption on the back. Oberleutnant Ludwig was Chef of the 2.Kompanie Sturmgeschutz Abteilung 1346 which was part of 346.Infanterie-Division. The photograph was taken just after Ludwig and his crew shot their 16th British tank during combat in the Pagasus Bridge area in Normandy on the 8th of July 1944.
Ludwig is wearing his crusher (visor)cap and what appears to be a (private made) summercloth StuG wrap. Ludwig was awarded the Ritterkreuz on the 24th of June 1944.
The size of the photograph is 13cm*18cm.
