The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served within the Restkommando Reinsehlen. This unit had the task of ensuring the further relocation of a unit, collecting cargo and preparing it for transport, providing a guard and overall keeping the property available for subsequent users and for future users (units) and maintaining technical operations (heating, water/wastewater supply, fuel, etc.).
Fliegerhorst Reinsehlen was the base for Jagdgeschwader 1,3,11 and 26.
The 'O' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
