The overall condition of the badge is very good. Near mint and complete with working pin and catch.
Marked on the back with 'L. CHR. Lauer' from 'Nürnberg-Berlin' and 'Eigentum D.Chefs D. Ausbildungswesens' meaning its the first type issued between March 1934 and January 1935.
SA Sportabeichen in bronze were awarded to those who had successfully passed an educational and physical program. This particular example has an extremely low issue number '3454' which makes it very rare. Consider that by December 1936 one million SA Sportabzeichen had been issued and by the end of 1943 (now called the SA Wehrabzeichen) more than 2.5 million had been issued.
