It is in excellent condition and shows only some normal signs of use. Nicely maker marked by 'Berndorfer Metallwaarenfabrik Arthur Krupp'. It also has a silver marking '19' and capacity mark '30cl'. This pitcher was made and used in the 'Terassenhotel Krumpendorf Am See' .
The 'Terrassenhotel' was sold to the German treasury (the army) in April 1941. As a result, the Terrassenhotel, like similar hotels near a lake, was converted into a convalescent home or 'Heeres-Erholungsheim' for wounded soldiers on their way to recovery during the war.
The hotel also suffered from an Allied bombing raid (1944) when an air raid on the way back from a mission dropped several emergency bombs in the Wörthersee River in the immediate vicinity of the Terrassenhotel, one bomb damaged the hotel. After the war, the hotel was used by the British and served as a shelter for refugees as there was a huge housing shortage.
The pitcher is approximately 10.5cm high
Beautiful and very interesting piece of tableware.
