Beautiful and very hard to find mid to late war (+-1942/1943) Gebirgsjäger officers Mountain Cap or 'Bergmütze'.
The overall condition of this tailor made officers Bergmütze is very good. It's shows normal signs of wear.
The rare Officers Bevo T-Eagle is very interesting. It's made to be used as a T-shape, but the base cloth has simply been folded into a triangle and 'zig-zag' machine-sewn in place by the tailor during construction of the cap
It has an Edelweiss Mütze abzeichen on the left side, aluminium pebbled buttons on the front and an officer's piping to the crown.
On the inside we can clearly see some signs of use. it's complete with it's partial sweatband (which is a bit dried out/hard) and stiffened front (underneath the lining) to the crown. The Mütze is marked by it's maker 'Hermann Gollhofer' who was a little Austrian cap maker from 'Innsbruck'. The size of the cap is approx. 55.
This Mütze is published in the book ‘The German Army, Mountain Soldier of World War II’ (Juli 2009), by 'W.Krawczyk & B.Jansen', page 15.
Overall a very nice late war Officers Bergmütze, which is made by order and extremely hard to find.
