The pillowcase is in excellent condition. It shows normal signs of aging. It was never completed with the 3 closure buttons on the back. The illustrations on the front is fully intact. The pillowcase refers to the 'Adolf Hitler Haus', also called 'Haus Wachenfeld' or 'Hitler's Berghof'

'Haus Wachenfeld' was built in 1916 for a banker named Winter (his wife's maiden name was Wachenfeld). Hitler first rented this house and later (June 1933) bought it after his election as Reichskanzler. He twice commissioned architect Alois Degano to remodel it. The first time after he bought it and the second time in 1936 resulting in the name 'Berghof'.

Whenever possible, Hitler stayed at the Berghof.  The Berghof was also regularly the scene of military and diplomatic conferences. Most of us are familiar with the colour documentaries from the 1930s showing Hitler's later wife Eva Braun in particular.

Very interesting piece of history that could be perfectly framed and would look great in any collection room.

The pillowcase measures approx 50cm x 42cm.
